Location and its
San Miguel de Aras is a town in the municipality of Voto (Cantabria, Spain). The town is located on the south of the Valley of Aras, where the Clarín River originates, at 58 meters above sea level (Cantabrian), and 3.2 kilometers from the municipal capital, Bádames.
This town surrounded by great natural beauty is the ideal environment to enjoy nature, organize interesting routes and visit its caves. The Cueva de Cobrantes and La Covarona stand out, which was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Archaeological Zone in 1985.
In this town you can also find the Nuestra Señora de Palacios Sanctuary , archaic Gothic from the 16th century and a good sculptural altarpiece. Also the casona- palace of Cerecedo-Alvear of the XVIII century.
